Walden Associates Volunteers at LICares

To celebrate Walden's 14 th anniversary Walden Associates (an environmental engineering and consulting company located in Oyster Bay) volunteered their time at a Long Island Cares event, the National Letter Carriers Food Drive. Saturday, May 9, 2009 was the National Letter Carriers Food Drive. 735,000 pounds of food were donated on Long Island during this event. On Monday, May 11 , 2009 the office offered their time to package the donated food for distribution to various agencies.

Long Island Cares is Long Island's first food bank and one of the region's most comprehensive hunger action organizations. It was founded by Harry Chapin in 1980 and provides food and support services for member agencies including food pantries, soup kitchens, emergency shelters, child care programs, disability organizations, veterans' services and others.
