SEQR Review

Walden has reviewed permit applications that propose changing a land-use zone. This typically triggers a State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) Environmental Impact Statement. Walden has reviewed several Draft Environmental Impact Statements (DEIS) to make comments on its thoroughness. Walden also reviews project applications during the SEQR Scoping process to add additional areas to be studied in the DEIS. For more information of SEQR go to http://www.dec.state.ny.us/website/dcs/seqr/1seqrmap.html

Solid Waste Permitting

Both state and local authorities regulate solid waste transfer and processing facilities. Facility planning and operation have become an often-confusing process, which often requires engineering assistants to plan for facility set-up or operational modifications. Walden has a thorough understanding of the Solid Waste regulations, permit requirements, and facility design and operational considerations necessary to aid in all aspects of solid waste transfer and processing.

Walden staff have a strong rapport with New York and New Jersey solid waste regulatory agencies which is invaluable in addressing solid waste issues that tend to be clouded by public opposition and other competing interest. Our ability to engage in concise and open dialogue with the regulatory agencies is essential in performing solid waste services efficiently and effectively.

NPDES

Walden can help prepare SPDES (State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System) or NPDES (National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System) pemits for discharges to groundwater or surface water. Walden can also help negotiate sampling plans to help reduce annual analytical costs. Walden also can prepare the required Discharge Monitoring Reports (DMRs).
